Dude at work was selling some for his daughter's cookie sale thing and I bought 3 boxes. Before lunch, I had the first box polished off and darn near wanted to tear into the others.

Seriously - those things are made with some form of highly addictive, barely legal substance in them. It can't just be the chocolate... I'm not real big on chocolate. The combo of chocolate and mint could be it, but you don't see me downing York peppermint patties or Junior Mints (or the little round deals that look like rabbit manure) like I have at a box of Thin Mints.

So that leaves us with the ratio between mint/chocolate... is there anything else out there that offers a similar ratio, but isn't as addictive?

OR - is it because they only come 'round once a year? Is their rarity the reason why we scarf them up? If that were the case - McDonald's Riblets would be on my list once a year... ...

Beers,

Matt

Maybe there is some RUM in them!!!

I have lost my taste for chocolate over the last 5 years, but if the mint flavor is there, I am like you describe.

Not so much on the mint stuff for me but if I get my hands on a box of those coconut chocolate caramel Girl Scout cookie things... . oooooo..... 10 min tops. Oo. Oo.

same with me but with the tagalongs. Peanut butter+chocolate, match made in heaven. . :D

This cracks me up, I came over hear to post something and saw this. .

Besides the choc/mint thing they got that cookie center going on that wraps up the addictive combo.

If you really want a treat that might require rehab later on, toss a roll of them in the freezer. Chilled they are indescribable. Oo.

In the evening I like them that way with tea.

Anyone try the new Girl Scout "lemonade" flavor cookies this year? I think they are my new flavor of choice, except for the peanut butter ones.

It would be a very close race between thin mints and the peanut butter sandwich cookies.

Not sure I could beat Pete though... but it could be close. :-laf

Obviously there's something wrong with me - I don't like Girl Scout cookies. Particularly Thin Mints.

Makes it tough when the boss comes around and "asks" if you'd like to buy some "wink, wink".

Give it some time Ryan, you will come around.

I think it may be an age thing. I graduated high school when you were born.

In my 30's I wasn't very fond of them either.

My Dad who is now in his 80's swears that the cookie jar wakes him up at night. . says they talk to him :-laf
