Question for those of you planning to keep your new truck for a long time. The standard warranty coverage from the info that was given to me is:

Basic ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . 36 month/ 60,000 km = 37283 miles

Major Components... ... . 84 month/ 115,000 km = 71459 "

Corrosion Perforation... 60 month/ 160,000 km = 99422 "

Roadside Assistance..... 84 month/ 115,000 km = 71459 "

Engine... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... 84 month/ 160,000 km = 99422 "

Are you looking at extended warrantys and if so what kind??

Thanks Ken

When I bought mine I was told that it came with a free 7 yr 100k mile powertrain warranty. I was told it included the engine, transmission, transfer case and both axles. The other day I was told it only included the engine and transmission. I cant find the warranty booklet to know for sure but I hope the other powertrain parts are included in a "powertrain warranty" It was one of the reasons I traded my 01 for the 02. Anyone know?

Found this link describing what is available for the 2002 Ram HD, as far as I know, this carries over for the 2003.

7/70 Warranty details

Also found a little blurb on the Chrysler warranty site:

"covers engine, transmission and driveline only and does not include Car Rental or Towing Allowance coverage. Customers pay a $100 deductible for each covered component repair visit after the standard 3 Year / 36,000 Mile Warranty has expired. "

The Chrysler warranty site explains that a 7/100 warranty is included with all vehicles, but the Dodge site says 7/70. I believe the 7/70 is what they are offering.
