the way I look at it is if they are too busy to talk to you when your trying to give them money, what are they going to be like when you have a warranty issue? Especially if the warranty cost is going to come out of their pocket? Of course, I can honestly say that every vendor I have ever dealt with on the TDR has been stand up people that have never given me any problems.

I always cut Companies some slack on emails, but I do expect a return phone call. But from being in business myself, I know how easy it is to loose that little slip of paper with someone's name & number on it.

I agree. My problem is, if I actually followed that logic I wouldn't own hardly anything or get anything done. I've dealt with hundreds of vendors and I'd bet I could count the number of return calls I've gotten from leaving a message (either on a machine or with a human) on 1 hand. I'm absolutely convinced that people hate me because no matter what I've tried almost no vendor EVER phones me back (no matter how much money I'm trying to give them).

I'm not exaggerating. I've learned never to bother leaving messages... just keep calling until you catch the person there. :(

IF you want good service PERFORMANCE DIESEL WAREHOUSE give {doug} a call 717-557-7060 a good guy to deal with he has time for you before and after the sale!!!!!

Just to clarify, I was just looking for an airfilter for my 04. 5 I drive in alot of dust and have already put in 6 paper airfilters at around 25 -30 bucks a pop. I could have bought a afe replacement one for the airbox for that price!

Without getting into details, I have had luck like rbattle lately. Not from any of our vendors on here, but businesses in general. Like the computer I am using. I made on call asking specificaly for a price on it. They never did call back, so I bought it from somewhere else the next day. Same with a sattelite internet system. They are about 1500 bucks up here. Finaly after contacting the 3rd business I found someone who would sell me one. Never did hear from the first one I contacted. Things are "booming" in my home area right now. Could explain the lack of service.

A little off thread, but I'm a greenhouse owner and if one of my vendors (broker, middlemen, what have you) failed to return the Second phone call the order would go somewhere else even if the price is a little higher.

Service counts, sometimes you need something now and sometimes the product doesn't work that is when you find out the character of your vendor.

If that slip of paper is a check, I'll bet they wouldn't lose it!

Yes, I think so. Where I live the growth has been incredible over the last 15 years. Right now you can't get anyone to do anything because there is way more work than qualified folks to do the work. It doesn't matter what it is. Roofer, tree trimmer, painter, heating / cooling. They make you feel like you're lucky to have them work for you.

Just wondering how many chances you give your vendor to respond to phonecalls and e-mails before taking your business elsewhere.

Honestly? 2-3 depending upon relationship and reputation

And I dont count emails, to much error in servers, and spam blockers
