How many have "Dodge" emblems on the tailgate?

I don't have one and I thought it was a defect, but I see that yellow truck mentioned in another thread doesn't have one, either.



Is this an '05 thing or something?

Actually it doesn't say Dodge anywhere on the outside of my truck, thus why I thought it was strange. Tailgate says, "Heavy Duty" "4x4" and "Laramie" just not Dodge.



Fine with me, I didn't want to be reminded I drove a Dodge anyway, it's a Cummins that came with a free Dodge if you ask me.

In some locales, the "G" was being stolen as a gang thing (they used the letter as a pendant - allegedly stood for "gangsta"). So for 05, they made "HEAVY DUTY" larger, and went with the ram-head emblem on the tailgate.



By the way, it is legal to not identify the make of a vehicle on its exterior. The Thunderbird did not have "Ford" on it for ages - it finally got a blue oval on the trunk in 89. Corvettes don't have "Chevrolet" - they just have a tiny bowtie in the checkered flag logo. And, Vipers don't say "Dodge".



Of course, had Dodge continued to use decals on the tailgate as with the 2nd gens, this wouldn't be an issue at all.

More like gawdy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I took it all off Rams head and all,left the Laramie though. Cummins emblem from Geno's on the way.
