HVAC guys, I pulled a smooth one. Need advice.

El manejador era posible muy borracho.

I don't know about vans, but I've seen eight pile out of a '82 Cutlass once.

going through memphis sunday, I saw a small car with a flat tire in the median, there were 10 standing around it while one changed the tire. I laughed my ass off trying to figure out how they crammed that many people into that little car.

A ritual that still cracks me up. Every Sunday morning the Mexicans who worked for me would stand around the open hood of a Monte Carlo, I think they may have been praying to it. Then all eight of them would pile in and head to the swap meet.

I once took a shuttle van from Tijuana to San Diego. When the van approached the border crossing, which was backed up at least a mile, the Mexican driver swerved though a missing section of the median wall and drove the wrong way against traffic for a couple of miles till he got back on the right side though another missing section of wall on the US side. By the looks of the tire marks though the missing sections I could see that many vehicles used that same route. Sure saved a lot of time.

CAREFUL BOYS!

Be careful! I got in trouble with our moderator for using the words "no ingles". I am NOT a favorite on this site... lets see if you are!

illflem,

your story reminds me of a group of us high school kids in puerto rico, right after senior graduation on a trip. We were in a taxi headed to the airport. There was a taxi right in front of us with another bunch from our group. Were stopped at a traffic light, about 10-12 cars back.

My buddy says to the driver he gets $5 extra if we get to the airport ahead of the taxi in front of us.

This guy turns the wheel, points the car into the dirt shoulder of the road, nails the throttle, down into the ditch we go, down past all 10-12 cars in front of us stopped at the light, the car launches into the air, as we head into the intersection, "flying" ( alteast part ways ) thru the red light, with cross traffic no less, and indeed gets us to the airport ahead of the taxi that WAS in front of us. 25 years later we still laugh and figure it ranks up there as some of the best $5 we ever spent.

Bigsaint & sdalton, y'all will like this one- I set a record back in 1979 that still stands at the Wharton County Sheriff's Dept. Following a war in progress at a local cantina, I got 10 of 'em in the back seat of a 1978 LTD II patrol car! (Yep, it had a cage. ) Had 'em stacked like cordwood. :D

Back in high school I had a 1977 Toyota Celica. There were eight very pretty girls, and one fellow walking with them down the road. They had to be at the High School about 4 miles away, but their rides fell through. I gave them a ride. The guy was in the hatchback part, and I had girls laying all over the place. It sure was hard on theat little thing, CAR THAT IS(you perverts). I didnt think it was possible to fit that many in that small of a car. Before anyone asks, yes it was a stick shift.

We had a bomb threat to my high school once and we could leave if we had a ride. I fit 7 people into my '73 pinto only 4 were petite girls. Kinda sucked when I got stuck on the first speed bump and had to get everyone out.

20 years ago, I took my ex-wife (she's Spanish and we were married then) back to Spain for her sister's wedding. I rented a small Seat (Spanish Fiat) 850 2-door sedan that would seat 4 somewhat comfortably. We went to the wedding rehearsal the night before the wedding and when we left, we had 4 adults in the front (2 bucket seats and 4-on the floor) and 6 adults in the back seat (3 on the seat and 3 on their laps). That poor tiny car somehow made it back to the hotel with everyone in it.

You get over to Spain and Italy areas, you'll find a Fiat 600 (a Yugo-size car) with Mama (all 300 pounds of her) and her slightly smaller sister in the back seat with 4 kids and Papa and his brother-in-law and another kid in the front. Or Papa driving a Vespa scooter with Mama sitting side-saddle on the back, holding a baby, and another little one standing on the "floorboard" in front of Dad holding onto the handlebars with a "Mad-Max" look in it's little eyes.

It's very common there since they mostly drive little cars because of the price of gas ($5. 00 per gallon 10 years ago).

BillLins-Watching The B/P

You must have been watching the Border Patrol. I have seen so many people exit a B/P sedan that it looked like one of them Clown Cars at the Fair. :D :D :D

One of the Deadliest Washington accidents

A few years back somewhere here in E. Washington there was a terrible wreck between a vanload of Mexicans and a Caprice load of Mexicans. The Caprice with 9 on board crashed head-on with the van carrying 12. There were no survivors. 21 people dead between 2 vehicles. There were no witnesses, someone came along after it happened and there wasn't much that could be done. Pretty bizarre.

Funny stuff

We sit around and count pounds on our CTDs so not to go over GVW. Yet when I was overseas I saw Toyotas with more on them. Their motto was "If there is room, its not overloaded. " You would see people hanging off the sides of large loads, you coundn't even see the truck under the load! Every once in awhile you would see one broke down. But suprizingly very few broke. Of course they didn't move too fast with those loads. Just imagine what they would do with a CTD!!!!!!

I know a guy who has an older, tiny, Toyota "1 ton" truck and put a huge camper on it. Twice he has broken axles while running along about 65 mph. Twice he went off the road and almost rolled. I've told him he is overloaded but that phrase doesn't mean anything to him yet. He is one of these smart-a$$ know it alls, he's a Liberal Democrat. Can't tell him anything he doesn't see on the news.
