Strange Noise

Pit Bull, I put 218k on my old gasser and it came home with 111k on it! (329,000 when I sold it-and it's still on the road a year later) I FULLY expect to hit 4 or 500k with this truck-maybe more. And I'll keep buying and fixing up the old 2G trucks-last of the mechanical injector, last of the inline pumps,... I'll look like the old farmer down the road who has International Scouts parked all over the place. It don't get no better than this.

Closing in on 50,000 fast miles! I race to work , race home , to the store , coffee , races , ... ... . even camping. Been bombed for just about EVERY mile (Break in is turning the key the first time) :p

Not Enough!

1989 W250 "Brownie" has 238,000 with the last 88,000 of those by me.

Red 1996 2500 has 248,000 and the last 54,000 on my watch.

1999 Freightliner Thomas school bus has 47,000 and just started its 5th school year.

LOVE 'EM ALL, DON'T GET TO DRIVE THEM ENOUGH!!!

'01 w/ 145K

Lost the VP44 @ 130K. It sat for two months until I could buy one from Midwest Fuel Injection. Doing good now but I feel like I'm running with my eyes closed until I can buy gauges. I like the truck and I'm confident I'll get 500K +.

All these high numbers are impressive... . guess I don't have too far to drive in Alaska. 35,000 miles and change on my 2000 with no problems 'cept a crank sensor under warranty. By far my favorite truck EVER.

miles on ctd

153500 miles on my o1

thats just getting broke in love the cummins in pick-up, but still running cats in all my big trucks and equipment.

2 clutches

1 transmission

1 blown HX35 later down the road.....

almost at 192k (at least on the dash) but frame and whole truck has more due to 285's... Still running strong!

Rolled over 220k last week. Bought it with 184k

In the 2 yrs I have had the truck I've replaced the turbo, rebuilt front axle, and waiting for trans. #3 to bite the dust.

The first one I had is still going today with a buddy who bought it from me @ 430,000 and now he's over 480,000 kms. The second one I sold not too long ago @ 210,000 kms. My new 04 is lust a baby yet. Things to watch out for are

-Wheel bearings on the front axle.

-shocks and front end steering components

-Make sure you keep an additive in the rear diff.

-Change the oil @ 5000 k and the fuel filter every 10,000 k

-Change the transmission and Transfer case @ each 30,000 K

-Front drive shaft joints especially the Cardin joint

Thats the way I see it, but my trucks do a lot of off highway gravel and mud roads. They have all been dependable when I took the time to maintain them.

;)

I am the proud owner of a used 1998 2500 QC CTD 4x4 SLT Long Bed. It has 77,382 miles on it. Bought it a week ago and am looking for excuses to drive it. :D
