This is a loaded question because driving style, mods and payload figure in heavily, but I was curious what some of you guys with stock or near stock configurations have experienced?

I have 186,000 on mine and I run empty mostly and don't tow anything of significance. I always start out in 1st and just let the clutch out so I can't imagine the clutch sees all that much wear. Is it reasonable to get 250,000 or 300,000 out of the stock clutch under these "light duty" conditions?

Just curious.

I had 190k on mine when I replaced it. It still had plenty of material left on it but I had reached a power level that was beyond its capabilities. I was impressed by the amount of material left especially considering almost always starting in 2nd when running empty.

I bought my truck used from 2nd owner, and I am guessing I have used it harder in the past 70,000 miles than they did in 216,000. Cuffent odometer reading is 287,092. Good luck and keep on truckin'!

215,000 miles on my original clutch & no issues. Never touched (but check regularly) the master/slave cyl. fluid. All is fine. Oo. Mike

I had a 91. 5 cummins that I put 335,000 miles on before selling to get my present 2002. It had the original clutch and I occasionally towed a tandem equipment trailer. No known problems.

You can do the same starting out on 2nd.
