I just bought the wife a 2003 Quad Cab Sport with a Hauler Conversion. It was done by http://www.2lcustomtrucks.com/ I just curious as to how many others have done the same to their trucks through similar companies 2L, Western Hauler, etc. I don’t know that I seen one yet is the reason I’m asking.

A friend of mine in Salem Indiana owns a business named Class and Muscle trailer,

and he helped me put together a flatbed hauler like the one ronmonical has pictured.

It isn't quite as fancy as the custom hauler that edmeyers has bought his wife,

but it is quite functional. One thing I'm very happy with is my friend modified the

stock flatbed to sit lower on the frame, so as to provide a lower bed/hitch height

on my dually 4x4. The lower bed height makes the bed more user friendly, and the

clearance is much better for my gooseneck trailer when I have the 16" stakeside

bed rails in place. I don't think height is as much an issue if you start with a

2WD truck.

Nice haulers gentlemen.

I had a Chevy Western Hauler and a Ford 550 2L Custom. I had Classy Chassis recover the seats in my current truck. I miss the hauler bed. I hate how high my 4x4 is. I could haul more hay on the hauler bed than my regular bed with a tool box in it.

Ed, where did you find that truck if I may ask? Thanks, RC.

Thanks for all the replies i to like a flatbed because of the height issue with 4x4 trucks, but all i have ever had is a std flatbed and they sure are a lot more useful than the hauler beds but i've never had a flatbed look as good as a hauler bed.

Sadlbum i just stumbled across it on ebay. it did not meet the reserve so i decided to contact the seller turned out the truck was only 50 miles from me. i met the guy (DEALER) but he seemed as honest as any. this was his first dodge diesel (he's a ford man) and he was planning on keeping the truck for him self n e way i paid $23500 with 113k on the clock not bad by my book if you factor in the conversion. well i happy with it, but the wife misses her old truck 01. 5 3500 4x4 reg cab. i guess it will take some getting use to.
