Plastic Pipe

Happy Easter!

How many of us smoke a pipe as opposed to cigs or a cigar? What is the tobacco of choice and when do you light up?

I enjoy the original Captain Black in the evening when I'm ending the day in my favorite chair. I'd rather not fumble with the thing during the day. Never could do two things at once... ... such as smoke the pipe and cut the lawn. :-laf

When I was a kid in grade school, some of us made and smoked pipes. It was out of necessity, cuz the ground up pencil shavings would flame up using newspaper :{

Now I just smoke Camel Lights, outside at work with the other second hand citizens. Jeeze, did smokers get frowned upon quick when the move started :(

I smoke pipes in winter. English tobacco's only but I keep a number of them around. For me smoking my pipes is a solitary thing - time to reflect. Otherwise it's cigars.

My grandfather smoked a pipe. It seemed rather relaxing and upper class, I don't think I'm that "sophisticated" yet and definitely not upper class. Guess I'll just have to settle for watching them smoke cigars and drink sharri at the end of Boston Legal for now until I "deserve it" :-laf

I have a pipe, but rarely smoke. It's hard to find "what I think" is good tobacco. I enjoy a sweet tasting mild tobacco. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a couple of cigars every year, but that's about it. I get them for Christmas gifts, etc.

I don't smoke, but out of all of the tobacco that is used for smoking, I like the smell of pipe tobacco the best. :D Really nice scent to it. Some cigars smell nice. Hate the smell of cigarettes, though.

Back in my younger years I used to carry a pipe around too. Only mine was for one hits of smoke and I didn't inhale. . :-laf :-laf :-laf ... but I have become much wiser since then and passed the habit in exchange for Marlboro Lights and an occasional cigar.

I started smoking a pipe in the Navy. I mainly used it for keeping my hands warm while running boats in the winter. I like plain tobaccos, rather than flavored ones.

DHayden, Sophisticated?? Upper Class? Think Popeye!! And after smoking, you can open a can of spinach with it!!

I've tried off and on for a year or more, but I just for the life of me can't keep the darn thing lit. I've never had anyone show me how to do it properly, and I've read web sites such as Pipes.org but still can't get the hang of it, so I just stick to cigars.

I'm very seriously considering getting a tobacco pipe. Seems like such a distinguished, relaxing hobby.

My hangup is the thought of getting addicted to anything, particularly nicotine (I won't even drink caffeinated drinks if it can be avoided). But I figure a pipe at the end of the day once a week or so can't be all that addicting. Plus, Einstein smoked a pipe, and he was WAY smarter than me.

I have a Peterson pipe that I love to smoke with a English blend. At best I only get to about every other month,or when I am using my table saw.

I have three of my dad's pipes. Been thinking about giving them a try, just really no where to smoke them. I won't smoke in the house and there's no smoking at work, so.....
