FBI approved firearms list??

Social Awareness Training.... part 2

If you are attacked and the only thing nearby is your toolbox, what would you use for a weapon?

Screwdrivers and hammers are probably first on the list, but maybe you guys would have reason to use something else.

I always have my Benchmade CQC-9, but other than that, I carry a good heavy duty pen.

I dont ever want to get close enough to anyone that's threatening with these, but a pen in the eye will surely stop whatever's happening.

Well I don't have any firearms in my tool box, but there are a couple large knives within reach. On two occasions I have armed myself with a fire extingusher. Both times the assailants backed down quicker than if I had pulled a gun. Something about the fear of chemicals. :D

some big honkin pry bars in there... also a 36" x 3/8"extension. . how about a smack in the balls from a 3 lb dead blow hammer. . 12 volt tester might cause a prick or two. . 1 1/2" combo wrench might raise a lump also. . geeees there are quite a few things that will put a hurt on ya

My truck is stocked right up for my job as a contract oilfield operator-so I could kill ya about 35 times over when I crack the lids! Everything in there from a 10" pipe wrench up to a 36" behemoth (I left the 6" out as it would probably just anger a would-be attacker), 3/4" drive ratchet and swing bar, hammers out the ying-yang, punches & chisels, screwdrivers, prybars, jumbo wrench set (up to 2"). I too carry a 12 volt trouble light-and I suppose the leads from my DVOM would do as a weapon. Also have a razor blade scraper and a couple of the infamous box cutters in inventory as well. 30 lb. fire extinguisher could be used to batter or blind... .

Wow I could be considered a rolling lethal weapon in some jurisdictions!

A can of baked beans... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... although it takes a while, once you eat a whole can you can really clear a building:D :rolleyes: :{

Hey... this is my 301 post!

I'm a peaceful guy, but grew up in the country and then got drafted into the army in Jan. of 1970... so I learned some things.

I was on a job site a few years back and this psycho started yelling and walking towards me and I didn't know what the heck he wanted. I couldn't figure out what he was even screaming about. He got within about 3 feet of me and with little warning did a karate kick into my groin. Well that pointy toed cowboy boot he was wearing missed both it's little targets and only thudded harmlessly into my pubic bone. Then he tried another karate-type side kick to try to knock me over. (I found out later he had told someone that he wanted to knock me down and kick some of my teeth out. )

Well I didn't ever learn Karate growing up, but I did learn Tire-Tool as a lad. When he saw that his kicks had no effect, and that I was not imtimidated, he gulped, and I took that opportunity to lean over and pick up a 12" Crescent wrench from my toolbox. He didn't want to do anymore fighting then and I had fun backing him around the room for a little bit, and talking very seriously and very slowly to him. He never bothered me anymore after that.

1/2 drive torque wrench, 24" extension, crow bars, rolled up extension cord, wasp killer spray, cordless drill with 1" spade bit and if I can get to the truck cab 9mm attitude adjuster.

1/2" breaker bar or Hilift jack handle. Slingshot with all those sockets, 1 1/4" in the head gotta hurt! If that doesnt work, run them over. ;)

24" Aluminum handled pipe wrench, Ridgid is prefered.

The light handle lets you get a good swing and the business end is steel.

Almost as good as an oar handle filled with lead.

Not thet I have ever used anyhting like that on anybody.

If not near my firearms, a little 4" Kershaw Ken Onion Easy Out knife. Always in my pocket (unless I'm getting on a plane). :D

Batman, You forgot to include the mandatory 6-pack to enhance/sustain the overall effect!! :-laf

Well. . I've got a fishing knife...

I'm glad someone thought of using sockets as a weapon :) Since I'm a David, I'd like to imagine knocking over a Goliath or two , like ZEEW mentioned.

For my birthday one year, Dad gave me a pair of fence pliers (I believe thats what you call them). They are a pair of pincer like pliers that have a small hammer surface on one side of the jaws and a pointed end on the other jaw. Nice and heavy too. I thought at the time that they would poke a neat hole in someone's head, so I loaded them into the top of my tool box, just incase I would need them someday.

One time, while changing a tire at the airport, on one of the company trucks, a guy walked up behind me, kind of slow like. To this day, I'm sure that he had bad things in mind for me. If he didn't, he sure was surprised when I spun around and swung my long handled 1/2" breaker bar at him. Thankfully he took off running and didn't start shooting.

Talking about bean weapons :) At one job, we had ceiling mounted radiant heaters in the garage. I used to take my lunch, wrapped in foil and set it on a cross brace inside of the heater to warm it. One day I took a small can of beans for lunch. A half hour before lunch I pulled the can of beans from my tool box and punchered the lid in a few spots, to release the pressure while it heated. I put it on the cross brace and went on with my job of the day. About fifteen minutes later there was a big boom. Dust and beans were flying all over the joint. Evidently the holes plugged up with bean juice and sealed the can up, then the pressure began to build. Everyone in the building crapped their pants. What really made it fun, was the fact that nobody in the place knew that I heated my lunch that way, so they had no idea what was happening at the time of the blast.

I'd have to decide between a 2ft pipe wrench or a 1/2 in breaker bar or maybe a 4 way or maybe even the can of Zep 45 I'd think that would sting alittle and if I could get inside a 40S&W HK or the 44 mag model 94 win would also work if none of those work I'm leaving

I keep

a craftsman mineing hammer and my old suvival knife under the seat. Thinking about getting a concealed weapons permit. It's getting a little scarey on the roads these days.
