bwock bwock, the sky is falling, cluck cluck...

Next week is the 10th wedding anniversary for wife and I and I thought I should probably get her a dozen roses to stay on her good side ;) Anybody have any idea how much they will cost? I have no clue  I already hinted around to her that towing mirrors and/or 4" exhaust would be a nice gift for me ;)

Thanks for any help!

Paul

You guys do it backwards. It's usually the truck parts that cause me to have to buy roses.

"But Honey, Piers gave me such a good price on the stuff" :D :)

You guys sure are a lot of help! To answer your question the price can vary tremendously. I often can get good roses at a local nursery by the stem for $1. 99 ea. I then arrange them myself and if I want to add baby's breath (the little white flowers) it's about another $2. Those are not "long stem" roses - not sure if they're called short stem or not (the stems are approximately 14 inches long). On the other hand if you go to a flower shop and buy long stem roses you could easily spend upwards of $100 for a dozen - the prices vary greatly depending on the shop and time of year.

And the problem with the store bought roses, the ref. cooler that they keep them in takes all the nice smell right out of them. I do buy the store bought, but to be truthful I would rather raise them myself so you don't miss out on that great smell...

Flowers just die.

Ah, flowers. They just die. Get her something she can use - something that will last - like a toaster!:p :D Or a big screen TV - you need one anyway!:p You see, you have to go with the gift that's for her that's really for you! Hey it's your anniversary too - that's both of you. You should both enjoy the gift. :D The sweet sound of the 4" can be enjoyed by both of you for years to come. ;) Just remember, it's your day too.

Just sign me - that practical romantic,

Dave:D

Another perspective

Flowers die. This can be good. Wife is a packrat and we move rather frequently (military). They meet the buying something need but don't fill house, basement, garage, etc...

I've done what Klenger said. Works just the same.

I like (and have used) Doc's idea too.

I agree with gitchesum too.

I'm not much help, am I?

I have been getting carnations latley. Last longer... she likes them... and theyre cheaper!!

Eric

BTW I've been married longer than you too!!:p

The longer youre married, the less it matters. :D

I'm with Dave. Get her something she will enjoy for a long time like the 96 oz Floor Mats from Genoe's. :D :D :D

Don, a man after my own heart. I like the floor mats idea. The ultimate for the practical gift giver!:D And you don't even have to water them!:D Flowers are for dates, anyway. :p Once you're married, she should really know better than to expect such an impractical, fiscally unsound investment.

Don't worry about the money end of the deal just buy her the flowers , buy 2 dozen if they got them! A good woman is hard to find these days, as a matter of fact tell her how beautiful she is and take her downtown and buy her some new cloths too, they love that, Then take her out and wine her and dine her till her lil heart is content and then ask her what else you can do to make her day complete. Think about it fellas these wemon take damn good care of us, they deserve alot more than we could ever give them.

We just celebrated our 21st honneymoon and I for one would not make it in this world without my lil gal! I have always been very generous with the celebrations of our marriage and I can honnestly say that they have always come back to me 10 fold and I aint talking money either. My motto is that money aint I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER but happiness is all that counts.

Give her a big kiss and show her your proud , oh heck you guys are makin me all tearie eyed and stuff and I think we need another group hug. ;)

p. s. did you know that a 7 day honeymoon makes a whole week.

Is that really you or did the lady find your TDR password? Gee we were just having fun and you had to get serious on us. Well, maybe we needed it.

Thanks

Flowers!

Lana once said, "Why don't you buy me any G$% D*(# flowers?" Later the flower girl came by, I bought some, tossed them to her and said, "Here's your G$% D*(# flowers!"

Hasn't asked since!:D

Although I'll admit that I get her some once in a while, so I can get some once in a while. ;) :D
