Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Bombs

I just got my truck back with a new PDR turbo (HX35)and ATS 3 piece exhaust manifold.

I also have a set of gauges now and for the first time can see my boast and temp (pre turbo).

My truck is basically stock except for turbo and exhaust as mentioned.

So how much boast should I see. So far about 12 lbs is the highest I have seen, but I have not towed anything yet.

What can I learn or what should I look out for with my boast and EGT gauges?

TIA

BOAST

Is 19-21 the max I should see or an average.

When unloaded and just doing about 65mph down the freeway I see zero boast and it goes up a little as I go up hill.

When should I see 19-21 lbs?

Thanks

Bob

A stock engine is limited to 20 by design which is nothing to boast about. You'll see that only when pulling hard up a hill or with a heavy load.

like krs said, you'll only reach peak boost when you put a load to it. that means floor it. you should see 19to 21 . going down the road you won't see more than 5-10.

BOOST

OK, I did floor it going up hill and the boost went up with the rpm's.

At about 65 mph still floored still going up hill, it was at about 20#.

Thanks guys
