How much boost at idle?

For those with boost pressure gauges, how much boost are you seeing at idle? How about:



-cruising down the highway empty?

-WOT in top gear on the highway (also empty)?





I'm curious what's normal.

I don't have an 03 yet, but did have a 97 with a boost gauge. It was a 180 Hp engine when it came out. At WOT, it gave me 18lbs. About that time the TDR magazind made a broad statement about boost. They figured the rule of thumb was 10HP per lb of boost. (18lbs boost = 180 HP). After adding a TST plate, moving it forward, 215 injectors, and a Gov spring kit, it showed about 34 lbs boost. I'm guessing about 340 HP at the flywheel, and it was still putting down 300 HP at the roller on the DynoJet, through an auto in locked up "D". If the 03 truck has an HO engine at 305 HP, I'm guessing WOT boost should be around 30lbs? I'm curious too, somebody will help with this I'm sure.

Hmm... 0 at idle? I would have expected 1 or 2 psi.

I see 0# of boost at idle, about 5# to 7# at 65 mph on flat ground and 24# at WOT in 6th gear. EGT's at 65 mph are about 600 to 650 degrees. At WOT EGT's run about 1200 degrees at 90 mph. This is in stock form. With the Edge EZ on level 2 and boost elbow installed I see 0# of boost at idle, 5# to 7# at 65 mph and WOT 34#. EGT's are almost identical to stock at the same speeds. This is all with an empty truck.
