I am in the process of installing the water meth injection on my 97 dodge, ctd 5 speed. I will be using the www.Aquastealth.com

kit with the 300cc injector.

I currently am getting around 44 lbs of boost and the truck runs great! I have been told that adding the water/meth injection can increase your boost up to 10 more pounds!

I am worried that if I do this, I might be having to do a head gasket, or something even more serious! I hate breaking down! #@$%!

Any suggestions?

If you are compressing 44 lbs of boost now that is already too much if you haven't done anything to your head gasket. I recommend o-ringing!

hey there,

I looked at your truck profile. What is your current timing set at? I would bump that to 15. 5 or 18* before the water / meth thing. Also, I'd look at upgrading the air flow, eg. turbo before water. But, if you think you're going to push 45+ lbs, becareful... :D

You're already overboosting your turbo and way out of its efficiency map  . . . time to upgrade it before doing anything else.

I had a stock turbo making almost 50 psi and added water methanol. The headgasket lasted a week. Do the headgasket and turbo before putting in the methanol.

I disconnected the wastegate again and it seems to run way better!

More power cooler temps!

I am worried that if I advance my timing that will increase the cylinder pressure and blow the head gasket quicker than stock timing. ???

I do run the truck hard but not for long times. No hard heavy pulling for long periods of time.

When I add the water/meth, will it raise my boost? or just run cooler? Does it make a difference if you use only water or 50/50 mix or the boost juice?

Thanks For the info, just trying to save some time for my poor Headgasket. :)
