Has anyone ever done any testing to see how much boost it takes to set a code? I am starting to think it is a boost over time type of alarm. My SPA is recording 25 PSI peaks and I see a sustained 23 PSI and no codes without a boost module. The 25 PSI is only read for about 2 seconds before the wastegate catches it and brings it down to 23. Some defueling is also going on in there somewhere but I am not able to see it accurately on the boost or EGT. From the butt-o-meter it feels like the defuel is as soon as about 21-22 PSI is seen on the MAP, but it must pull back to a steady state as there really is no change after the initial defuel that I can see or feel.
If I had the ability to read and reset codes I would take this further and find the answer. Has anyone ever done the testing? If there is a code scanner that I can borrow for a week or so I would be happy to do the testing myself too, but I do not have the cake to get one of my own right now.
It is my understanding that the Quick Check for the PDA can display fueling rates as well. If anyone knows what the defueling rates are (percentages at WOT to maintain 20 PSI?) I would appreciate that info as well.
Thanks for your help.
