Equipped with nothing more than a #8 plate how much boost should I see when:

1. Accelerating (peddle to the metal) unloaded (nothing in the bad and no trailer) 0 to 70.

2. Pulling a 10k trailer in the hills 4000 feet and below.

3. Pulling same trailer up a mountain pass 5k to 10k running in 2nd and third gear TC unlocked.

I don't want to out run anybody or risk damage my engine but do want to know things are running right --- your input is appreciated

max boost is probably in the mid to upper 20's. I'd say 24-28 most likely. Don't worry about the turbo (as long as you cool it down) as it will hold together until the low 40's. Of course, that high and your EGT's go up by heating the air. 38 psi is the magic number on mine.

Based on your comments ,looks like my boost numbers are where they should be... I've had problems with the waste gate actuator and have made adjustments --- I needed some reassurance

thanks

right on

vssman is right on. I have just the setup you describe. Unloaded, entering a freeway, I get about 18psi, then I hit OD and it gets to right about 28 before I back off because I'm up to about 75. I don't really notice a hugh difference in mine from stock till I hit OD, then it is a HUGE difference.
