Just finished install four inch turbo back double muffler from

Jerry Jardine. Went out on a test drive down a four lane and

was going 70 with very little effort. It seems that my stock

truck picked up a few ponies. Nice inside cab too, can hear

radio!! I guess next on the list is one of those fancy air

filters and a ez-edge:p

i don't think that u picked up any HP, but probably faster spool-up which is still important. I don't think u start picking up horsepower until u start adding horsepower other ways and then need the extra flow. I think u made a good choice getting a full 4" exhaust. Dodge went with a 4" exhaust on their new trucks, so there must be a need there, cause they wouldn't spend the money if there wasn't. U also made a wise desicion in opening up the exhaust before doing power upgrades.

issue #38 page 146

has story about exhaust upgrade and only 2hp gain on 300 hp engine. Still is worth doing I think for better sound and spool up. I would not put oem exhaust back on the $325. 00 if cost me to do my own exhasut system.

Very little, but...

It is true that you won't gain very many ponies, but the exhaust helps in other areas. Spoolup, as mentioned, lower EGTs, which let you actually USE the extra hp from other upgrades.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies , I didn't think it was much Hp ,But

she sure runs a lot smoother. :D It must be that faster

spool up. Was running stright pipes for 3 weeks needed

ear plugs to deal with it
