How much horsepower

How much horsepower does the turbo add to the stock engine? I have not seen it specified anywhere.

Can't really say, but once I was pulling my 15K lb 5th wheel when the turbo boost hose came off. I was running at 70 mph and 20 Lbs of boost then speed dropped dratically. Max speed was 35 MPH.



Seems like it's lots.

Although I usderstand the point of your question, since the engine was never designed to run without the turbo, it's kind of an irrevalant question. It's not an option, and has to be there for it to run correctly. Without the turbo, the Cummins 5. 9 would be a very very heavy low powered engine that would run forever.



It's almost like asking, "how much horsepower does a carberator add to a Chevy 327?"
