I have a stock '04 with the 305/555 engine. I am looking to add Autometer Ultralite gauges. Will a 15 psi pressure gauge be pegged at idle? I couldn't find any threads on what 3rd gen. pressure usually reads. Should I go ahead and put a 60 psi boost gauge in, since I don't what mods lie ahead? Thanks for the help.

First off Welcome to the TDR!

I would go with either a 20 or 30 psi fuel pressure gauge. Just for the sake if you would ever add a pusher pump. As for the boost go ahead and buy a 60 psi gauge. It doesn't take long now for a truck to be pushing over 40 psi

Stock fuel pressure is 8-9 at idle, 5-7 cruising. I would go a little higher for the exact reason mentioned above. Also go with the 60# boost gauge.

My 2003 Dodge service manual lists the stock lift pump as a minimum of 11. 5 psi. I started work at Fuel Preporator in May of this year doing tech and sales on the AirDog. After considerable testing I found most 3rd Gen. trucks are below Dodge minimum pressure. The majority idle below 10psi, run 4psi or less under heavy acceleration if stock and drop to a vacumn with a strong electronic enhancement. The lift pump inlet on my '03 measures about . 200" (!!), not a good thing. Larry
