Injection pump timing advance.
I will be advancing my injection pump timing tomorrow and wanted to ask how much advance is too much. My 175 pump is factory set now, I have not touched the AFC springs or starwheel adjustment.
Here's what I am doing right now: Cometic head gasket . 010 thicker than stock, valve job, head milled, HD exhaust springs, ARP 12mm stud kit, and 3k GSW kit installed.
Here's what I have done already (most included in sig): #6 plate -all the way to the back, 300 sticks, straight pipe exhaust.
My MPG is 16-17 city and 15 hwy. It drops down to 11-12 while trailering 8000lbs at 60-65 (2100 RPM) mph. It is a dually with 4. 10s and I don't expect too much.
Here's where I'd like to be: 3. 54s, gear vendors, cruising speed of 85 with an RPM of 1900 with better MPG.
Should I advance all the way up to 16. 5* or is that too high for what I'm running?
