How much will I need to lift my truck to fit some 35x14. 5 Hawgs on 12" wide wheels? I think it would be close with just the coil spacers, but I don't want the tires to rub everytime I turn sharp... Anybody running this tire size?

I have a Tuff Country 5" suspension and a 3" body lift and with 38" hawgs on 12" wide wheels I had a little rub, but only on my bumper. Mine is a sport so the bumper is a little bigger and also the 12" wheels stick 'em out a little farther. If your Ram isn't a sport and you use a 9. 75" rim, a 2" leveling kit still won't cut it. A 2" kit will get you 35"s on a 9. 75, and will rub the plastic inner fender. Go with a 4. 5" or 5". Also, Hawgs are C rated and if you tow much more than a Jet Ski, they will come apart. Trust me, this is why I don't have them anymore! D rated tires at least. I know Hawgs say 3160lbs per tire, it's not that, it's the 35lbs max pressure. This causes heat, which causes separation. I was lucky, I figure 100 more miles on my trip pulling my toy hauler and I would have had a tire failure. Both rears to be exact. Swamper and some others have big tires that are D or E rated, go with the heaviest ply tire to be safe. How does that saying go "so much is riding on your tires" It's true. Hope this helped!

hmmmm....

I never thought about the weight rating of the Hawgs before. I had a set on a Toyota and my Z-71, both never hauled more than my four-trax. I was afraid I would have to bite the bullet and buy a full lift for my truck, oh well. Thanks for the info.

Hawg's suck

JLinder,

Take my advise man, and stay away from the denman hawgs. A few guy's here in CA can tell you about my exsperience with them I blew out three tires in four days with just normal highway driving they cam right apart. So I have aquired a new nick name as well "Blowout". Snyder is right, I think the rating is the key, the load rating "C" is just a 6 ply and we should try to keep at least a 10 ply on our rigs which is a "E". I loved the hawgs while I had them they looked aggresive and handled good and made little road noise (over the cummins that is) I got rid of the hawgs and am running something that I really like now that still has the same qualities but is a 10 ply. The Parnelli Dirt Grips I am running the 36" X 14. 5 they list them as extra heavy duty check them out here
