WOW, :--) that much stock? I come from a automotive aftermarket (import oem turbos) background, so 20 psi. is a lot to me. So I am guessing with some average mods the boost goes up to the 40-50 psi. range? So I guess when its time to shop for a boost gauge I should look for a 60psi (I guess vacuum is not a factor) unit.

My '06 is waste gated to 30 psi at 5500 feet in altitude. The last TDR published a table that showed the boost levels for stock trucks and the 2004. 5 through '06 were listed as 30 psi max.

Dang, my stock 04. 5 hits 35psi at times. Glad I got the 60psi gauge.

Mine hits about 30-32 on the gauge. I live at 7500 ft and regularly run above that. I haven't noticed the boost coming up any higher on trips to the flatlands though. I have had in CA and MN and still never pegged my 35 psi gauge.

The milder boxes will get you into the low 40's for boost pressure. Some fo the wilder set-ups including twins can go up around 50-60 psi but you better do head studs

Compared to cars it is pretty crazy to see these boost numbers. Then add in the starting compression ratio above 18:1, it is no wonder the Cummins is one heavy engine.
