Archived How much oil do I need for front axel and diff?

Dodge is closed today and I really need to find out how much 80W90 I will need to replace what is in my front axle and differential.

I believe 7qts should cover it. My Dana 70 takes 3. 5 qts; last D60 front I did took right at 3qts, if I remember correctly. The Dana 80 in your rear diff might take a tad more.

My numbers match Daniel's. The front axle in my 1995 truck takes 3 quarts, and the rear (a Dana 70) takes about the same amount, but 3. 5 quarts should be about right.



The rear axle on my 2000 truck (a modified Dana 80) takes about 5. 5 quarts.
