i recently put a 89 12 valve into a 96 2500 4x4 and the oil pressure on the factory gauge was about 80psi cold and 60 hot now about 2 months later the oil pressure seems to be creeping up when cold/warm. at idle first thing in the morning the pressure was about 100-105 and 65-75 hot lately its been going up a little each day and now tops 110+ it will peg the gauge when cold and not go down till it warms up fully. i am going to do a pressure test with an engine mounted gauge and see if the sender is going bad. by the way the oil was clean with no coolant or anything wierd, but i changed it anyway and still have the same pressure. i hope the relief valve in the pump is not stuck. thanks.

I would use a mechanical gauge to check against that one. Could be the sender.

IIRC, the pressure relief opens at 65psi.
