How much oil?

Ok how much engine oil do I need to add on a 05 to go from low on the dipstick to high? And do they sell the oil in 1 quart containers or is it all the by the bulk?

Your 2005 Cummins holds 12 quarts or 3 gallons of oil, and yes you can buy the oil in quarts.



I would think that it would take one quart between the lines on the dip stick, that is the long time standard on all dip sticks.

One more thing read your owners manual on how to check your oil level, I believe it states to warm up the engine and turn it off wait for 5 minutes then check your engine oil.



Every time I check mine per the instructions in the manual it reads full on the dip stick.
