Competition can I use a h.o. head on a non-h.o. motor (compression?)

A while back I set a personal goal at reaching 360 HP with my truck. Since then I have read of street driven trucks that will do the quarter mile in 13 seconds, and some are even in the 12 s.

My question is: (I bet with my stock truck It would be a 18-19 second at least)

How much power does it take to turn a 13, and 14 second time slip? I get the feeling that some one will tell me that 360 HP will get me an elapsed time of about 16 seconds...

Last year With about 450 rwhp and a dieing stock lift pump I got a best time of 13. 7 at around 98-99 mph. That is with about 15psi 4x4 launch. With 360 you are not that far off. :)

Unfortunately you'll be handicapped by the 5sp... There's more to quick ET's than HP alone. With 360hp, AT, L/U switch, good traction, etc, I'd say low 14's.

MikeR has some knowledge of how to get some good times with a stick...

I ran a 13. 91 at 95 with 403 rwhp, with my DD Jammer turbo. Since then I've been doing some tuning and got me a bigger turbo, USB Bell, and now I'm at 14. 29 at 91.

Hey this is good news. I think I can live with a sub 15 second truck. Now it is time to get to work. Thanks for everyone's imput.

5 speed

I didn't see that you had a 5 speed. I ran a 14. 31 at 93 with my 03 5 speed with 404 rwhp and 780 torque, race weight was 7200 pounds.
