Good morning,

I need to get behind the fuel tank to replace the brake line that goes along the frame on that side to the rear. How much will the fuel tank drop down without removing the fuel lines and wiring from the tank?

Put SS flexable lines in this weekend but one flare nut was rusted to the line and it went 911.

Also reset the timing. The last time it was done at the dealer it was set at 12. 5. Reset now at a hair over 15. DPP stainless exhaust goes on probably within the next two weeks.

Thanks in advance to those who might reply with suggestions and help.

Regards, John

Howdy John!

With regard to the brake line...

Can you splice in a piece starting at around maybe the transmission going all the way back? If you need to borrow a double-flaring kit... I'm sure that my Dad could lend you his.

You should be able to sneak a new line in there without removing the tank... a holdoff/tiedown on either side of the tank should suffice. Dad did all my brake lines on my '94 not too long ago... and he didn't have to disturb the tank at all.

Man, it's been over 6 months since I've been through Orange, MA - or any other part of MA for that matter!

Let me know if you need any further help... .

Matt
