I was recently searching for the Cummins/Jacobs exhaust brake on Ebay. I ran across a seller that was a dealer in... . Texas I believe. So I bid, and got out-bid. The bidding started at $605. I called the dealership and asked how much retail was on the unit, he said $670. I said, well, I saw your ad on ebay, and bid, but was out-bid. He said that he usually works withe bidders, and if they are out-bid, he will sell the brake to them for the price at which they were out-bid. In my instance that is $615. I am asking is this a good deal, does he include everything that I need? HERE is the link for the auction. Let me know what you think. Is this a good price, how is the performance of the brake, does it look like all parts are included, etc, etc. Thanks

Got mine from a local dealer, parts guy hooked me up, $570. I wouldn't be without one now! Easy to put on as well. :D

Price pretty Close if you don't want to hunt any more.

Demand has helped keep the price stable to very little increase. (packing ,shipping, ins, location) will make a difference this close

get a delivered total.

DC#82205577 should contain everything (fits 98. 5-02)

Talked to that same Texas dealer in Feb. There are alot of costs for him associated with ebay,so you will not get a good price on there. Also In general People get caught up and pay too much on ebay.

He would not go that low last month( direct)

Told him I had offers for delivered total less than $600. He said Impossible ,(was somewhat upset )and sent an economics lesson on more fees/costs

That I should have to pay at selling dealer ?

They did not charge more, final price same as quoted in Jan.

Independant dealers don't have to charge retail just because demand increases .

installing it tommorrow

for any one else wanting one. I will give you the (PM me)name/number . not sure if we are to directly post such info here.

They do sell to alot of TDR members but don't bother to keep track

Good place

I had the Jacobs on my last 2001 truck and I loved the thing. The installation is clean and simple, like factory. I think I lost some power with it though. I purchased mine at a dealer back East for $575. 00 at 800-559-6698. I just received my BD Exhaust brake in the mail this week for my current truck and seems to have more wires to connect up.

That is a good price! Where did you buy it? Can you post a phone number and contact information? Thanks.

I had a new Banks Brake (the computer controlled type) UPSed to my door for a little less than $600. It came with a 4" ss outlet pipe. The dealer was Torque & Chrome from Houston Texas.

The guy I got mine from was a local parts guy, he is no longer with Dodge, so I lost my inside guy! I've heard of people paying about that price though at other dealers.
