How do I distinguish the 250 HP models from the 305 HP models?

I would say around $28k. There is a data plate on the valve cover that lists the HP of the motor.

The $28k is what I was hoping to hear. If I can get it for that, I think I'm going to jump on it. I was going to pay ~$36k for a new one with leather. I think for $8k I can deal with no leather or add it later, especially since this truck has no cat and appears to be pretty nice.

Correction. Now I HAVE to spend money on goodies to bring it up to par with new ones since it has the puller lift pump, less power, etc.

The engine rating is on a sticker on the valve cover. Mine is a 235 hp 03 and books for 28K w/36k miles. John

Tim, From what Ive seen and what my truck cost, you should be able to buy that truck NEW for not much more than the price they are asking used. Try Tommygun or Big Bob. My 98 came from Dave Smith and my 04. 5 came from Lithia. the 04. 4 was right at the high $32k out the door fully loaded 3500 4x4 Quad cab Swb automatic. Then you will have a NEW truck that no one else has messed with and you will never have to wonder why someone sold it so soon with such low mileage. (wrecked, lemmon, trud) Just a thought. Call around and save some money! You then can also get the options you really want and not what the guy before you wanted.

I already ordered a new truck with Tommygun. I was planning on going to pick it up next Tuesday but if you read the other threads on this topic, it cannot be delivered because it has the G-56 manual transmission.



If I can't have my new truck next Tuesday I'm getting a refund and the search is on again. I can't wait any more. I've been waiting for months and I"m tired of waiting. I want a new truck, and I wanted one with heated leather seats, which is what I ordered, (IN JANUARY) and it's still not here. That's why I'm asking this. It's not a money issue. At this point I wouldn't care if it was $50000 for a new truck with a Cummins and NV 5600. I just am not going to miss my trip that I've been planning since last winter and busting *** on every day off I've had because Dodge won't deliver my truck.



An SLT is not "fully loaded". The truck I ordered was a Laramie and the $36k price tag is with an employee purchase certificate. Without it, I think it would be close to $37k, but as I stated, I don't care what it costs anymore. I just need a truck.

I bought a 04. 5 on March 29 04. The dealer in my area was handing out employee discounts among other discounts. I have the sle. cloth but most everything except leather. I paid 32,600 + tax 3/4 ton 4x4. A great deal I think since the boys at gm and furd couldn't get under 40k

I was under the impression that the 2003 to 2004 and the 2004. 5 was the one that had smog stuff on it.



Please straighten me out as I am considering a used truck now vs a new



Though it is difficult to find a 3500 SRW LONG BED and a 6 spd in an H pkg.

Smog stuff has nothing to do with it. In 03 you could get a 5 or 6 speed and 250 horse SO motor or 305 HO motor. I'm not sure that all 6 speed trucks got the HO though.



No 3rd gen prior to 04. 5 had a cat. The 325/600-610 engines have cats.
