What did they do to cause the fall? I mean, did they open the driver's side door and change the balance?

Something like that just happened last week here in Gardnerville, NV & the guy who ran the shop was in a wheelchair from a previous accident when the hoist collapsed & he is still in the hospital. It wasn't a Ram but a small Ford. They think that the hoist was defective.
