I am hoping to find books/ manuals that show how to work on the cummins common rail engine. I have the service manual for this year and it outlines all motors for Dodge. I am hoping to find books that show Cummins engines in detail and maybe troubleshooting.

The service manual shows how to take apart but limited trouble shooting. I also would like to have a better understanding of the diesel engines.

Any recomendations?

Cummins used to allow free access to information (Service and Parts) for one serial number per customer. Now it is $100. 00 per year for access to 1-5 engine serial numbers. You could print off a whole manual etc. in a year.

The link is below. If you decide to go for it and have any questions feel free to post or pm me and I will help you get signed up.

Mike. :)

Not that I know of. The printed books from Cummins cost as much as a years subscription to the Quickserve. Also if Cummins updates part numbers or service procedures it goes on that site right now. A printed manual does not help you with that. Cummins does mention that in Dodge applications that you will need to use the Dodge Service Manual for some parts of that engine even though it is a Cummins. That is why you are only seeing some of it in your manual.

I have Troubleshooting and Repair Manual ISBe and ISB (Common Rail Fuel System) Series Engines from Cummins. It's a nice reference. Bulletin number 4021271.
