Guys, would someone help me to find out the history of my DodgeRAM.

I’ve bought my truck at the insurance salvage vehicle auction in Bell Air Md. on the February 2001,bought by the owner of Cardiff automotive Mr. Lynn Nelson.

The facts I know about this truck are: It was insured at the State Farm Dundalk Md;

Had an accident on the September 2000

The VIN# of the truck is: 3B7KF23D8VM518847

Is it possible to find out the former licence plate and the owner?

I’m asking for your help,because I’m so far away from the USA,and have not an idea how to get to the information I badly need.

Are there registrys for the accidents token place,the details about them,at the police or somewhere else. Any web sites about the accidents,or them like.

Thanks in advantage for your help.

Werner

There is a website (think its carfacts.com or something like that) and for less than $20 you can get a full report of all reported accidents, flood damage, how long vehicle has been registered in different states, if it was ever a rental or commercial vehicle etc. Did this before we bought the "newer" used car off a lot. Found no reports of accidents, etc but the car had been registered in 3 different states before being sold. Worth the $20 (or so) for piece of mind when you do not know the history of the vehicle. You may also be able to have the service dept pull-up the truck in the computer system if it's ever been in to the dealer for service or maintenace work.

PS: You might want to do this since the truck has been in a wreak. Think the report will also tell you if the truck was ever declared a salvage vehicle or something along those lines. Its been a while since I was at the website so I'm a little fuzzy on all the details, but you can put the VIN number in and it will give you some info, just not a detailed report. If it says there is stuff on file about the truck, you might want to pay for the full report and see what's on file about it.
