Greetings,

2013 6.7 Front exhaust pipe gasket oring was changed because of awful fumes in the cab... all the time... got so bad I had to drive with windows open.

Now fumes are back again. They are not nearly as frequent. Seems to only do it occasionally, dealer changed pipe or gasket on something to do with egr?? I don't know.

Something is still leaking fumes... occasionally... I asked the dealer if they could force the truck into Regen Mode so they could smell them for themselves... The service Manager said he didn't think there was a way to force the truck into Regen mode.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Trent

It's a good thing your dealer is actually reacting. Mine just told me it's normal. However, I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've smelt fumes in the cab in 10,000 miles. I did find some soot though from one of the v-band clamps between the EGR cooler and EGR valve. I may eventually take my truck back in again, but I hate dealer visits...

It wasn't easy.... I went 5 different times for the first smell... they told me it was...

1) A plastic bag stuck to the pipe
2) The part number sticker on the pipe
3) Oil burning off
4) Aliens
5) More Aliens

I finally couldn't drive the truck anymore the fumes were so bad (this from a guy who tunes 2 alcohol dragsters and races himself) So you know when I cry uncle over fumes... they're bad!

Then they discovered soot on one of the joints near the front pipe and after 2 more visits determined a gasket had blown out.

All was good until the smell returned again intermittently....
They told me it was another gasket on the egr or something (I should have paid attention but I didn't)

I'm thinking it only does it in Regen... The dealer near me is not a "truck dealer" if you know what I mean....
