OK I give, how do I get Daimler Chrysler or some body to get me a working truck. I picked up my new 2003 2500 SLT Quad cab, on 3/19, and with in 2 Hrs it was back at the dealer dead :{. The Turbo has die and I have the drive-line problem. I have finally gotten it away from the dealer to get the owner manual to call Chrysler. After waiting on hold I gave up and contacted them thought the web page.

below is what what has with been send/replied to them.

can anyone give me any Ideas about where to go from here

THANKS

tim

----------- Here is the basic of what is sent: -------------

Brief Description:

ref http://tobe.com/~dodge problem with dealer not getting work done on new truck

Comments:

Please review http://tobe.com/~dodge I'm have trouble with getting a working truck dealer has had it 14 days I have had it 7. they have let me have it three times with fault

------------- The reply back from them was: -----------

Dear Timothy:

Thank you for your recent email to Daimler Chrysler Motors Corporation regarding your 2003 Ram.

It's always of concern to learn that a customer is dissatisfied. Over the past few years, Daimler Chrysler Motors Corporation has made tremendous gains in improving customer satisfaction. In your case, we apparently have not met your expectations.

Our sincerest apologies for the problems you have had. I hope we will have another chance to restore your faith in us.

------------- My answer back was: -----------

Hello? Everyone has told me to contact Chrysler about the games that have been going on with my truck. I have documented what has happen (which was not read according to the web server log). Your response of "Our sincerest apologies for the problems you have had. I hope we will have another chance to restore your faith in us. " does help me get a working truck. The sales man I had had done such a great job, it is a wonder that no one else has. I am a loss of how to get a working truck. The dealer is not interest and nor are you, based on your reply back. What or who do I need to do to get a truck that I can use/drive. What is my next course of action save a lawyer?

I'd try again to call Chrysler. 800-992-1997 in the US. It's worth the wait on hold. Be civil and be as accurate as possible. Have dates, written information at hand, all that stuff. They aren't going to go to a server and read something posted on a forum. They need it straight from you. The complaint process laid out from Chrysler does not include e-mail. It says to start at the dealer and then call Chrysler. If that doesn't work, you can fire up your state's Lemon Law process.

Stopping payment on the check is NOT the answer. They then repo the truck and you end up with a black mark on your credit rating plus a possible deficiency judgment. I'd suggest the lemon law research route.

OK have had many exchanges :-{} with Daimler Chrysler, they can not access the Internet so they called the dealer who said truck was fine. after that they said to go to another dealer. I have an appointment on 4/22 :{ so the truck will sit. they will only do test drive and do not want to get involved.

 Question: present Oil filter is Gray no marking, asked to see a replacement at second dealer, Yes it gray but lots of marking and says mopar. Since the turbo broke the shaft I had asked to oil and filter to be changed. I'm wondering if I still have original filter. what are the odds for all the metal from the broken shaft and exhaust bearings to be in the oil still?

Also on the bottom oil line on turbo, the bolts that fasten it to the turbo do not go all the way thought the bolt hole. does this allow water dirt (salt) to get in and rust out bolt/hole?:( bolt come up from bottom.

I will call 800 number to tomorrow and will mail the web page summary off too.

New York State Lemon law is 4 tries to fix each single problem, or a total of 30 day down time. nice that it's in a book the dealer gave me, when I bought the truck. The truck has had 14 days at dealer to my 7 of my being able to use it.

That is a lousy way to do business... I share your

disappointment and anger.

I would write a polite letter to the dealer (with the details) requesting a timely (enter date) response and resolution. Send it registered...

At the bottom of the letter I would include:

CC: (editor of your local newspaper)

CC: Daimler Chrysler

CC: Ford Motor Company

CC: General Motors Corp.

CC: Better Business Bureau (local)

CC: Attorney General (local)

CC: Attorney general (US)

(I would also mention that you are giving the above recipients permission to use your letter any way they wish !!) You have a very good complaint here, I will bet that there are other dealers out there who would be glad to have your business.

I got an appointment at another dealer. They will not give me a written statement, since they have to deal with the original dealer. They do not want to cause problems.

They did confirm I still have problems.

Sounds like the same old Chrysler I delt with years ago. I had two Jeep Grand Cherokees (1994, 1996) and the rear ends had to be replaced 3 times in one and 2 times in the other. Chrysler said they knew there was a problem but it would take so long to get a fix that the model would be replaced first. Another words you bought it live with it. A sorry company to deal with.

Why do they have to "deal with the original dealer?" Sounds like the Good Ol' Boys Club is in action there... I'd ask for an explanation of why the other dealer needs to be involved. The maintenance/repair logs should be available on the DC system... It's between you, the current service dept, the truck and DC. The dealer doesn't need to talk to the other dealer for squat. Sounds like they don't want to back up their word if they won't put it in writing.

They trade cars/trucks.

It sounds like the only way to get a written statement would be to go out of the sales area (which is based out of NYC). Since that puts miles on the truck; I do not want to do that.

The people at the 800 customer service, that are involved with the problem, where in a meeting. They did confirm getting my documentation and know that I have been to another dealer.

The dealer I have an appointment with, next week Tuesday night, has done drive line fixes before, and is a much large shop, then this last one. The question is will they get involved, which is not likely.

I do not know if it was the 800 customer service or the dealer's parent company; but the dealer called, saying they would replace the key flob, and pretty much begging to have the truck back to make right.

I figure this is the last chance before I take Futures1's advice and let loose. however I think I will add the local TV stations, the Bank and my Insurance company to his list. I will likely have to get a lawyer too.

I really like the truck. I choose it over the other two which I did not like. (Ford with new engine issue, and the GM just want to stop if you let off the gas).

I hope they do it right
