How to get all the paint off the IC

The black paint on the IC is coming off slowly and I would rather try to get the rest off rather than to try and keep painting it black. I thought about painting the black parts silver and as it peels you won't notice it. I would much rather take it all off!!

Good question. Do you mean the entire intercooler, or just the end caps?

I can't think of an easy way to strip the entire intercooler. All those fins would be a nightmare. If just the end caps, I'd think about spending some quality time with acetone or a nasty chemical stripper.

Try a product called Airplane Remover or either Auto Strip. I think both are a Kleen Strip product. You can get them at at most of the box auto parts stores in the auto paint sections I sometimes see it at Wally World. If you have a pressure washer even better. Get the aerosol cans. Be super carful of overspray this stuff peels paint like crazy. Only takes a few minutes. I did mine in when I had my 05. Both products mentioned above appear to be the same thing in diffferent cans, ones blue/white with a airplane on it the other is in a black can with a car on it. If you use it just watch the overspray and don't get it on you or anything you dont want the paint off of.
