How to get codes

I did a search and couldn't find how to do this. I have an auto-xray OBDII reader but won't work with a 2004.



Is there a way to get codes by flipping the ignition 3 times or something like that?

No way... are you serious? I just guessed at that. Didn't think it would be that intuitive.

Off to on three times. Leave switch on the last time and watch the odometer.

now, i am assuming that this gives you a code number and then you have to call a dealer or diesel shop to find out what the code means, right? Or does it also tell you that?

Do the codes shown here for the 2003 also apply to the 2004 and 2004. 5 models?

Yes. OBD II codes are industry standard regardless of manufacturer.

Thanks, Buzzer. I checked mine and there are no codes shown. When I put the cruise on at 35MPH the other day, the truck kept surging to hold that speed. Has any one had that happen or is it just at that speed that is does it? It has never done that before. I am sure it wasn't the road causing it since it is a new paved roadway.
