I have the fuel lines off and the nut that goes around the injectors but how in the world do you get the old ones out i knew it was going to be tough. Any help would be great.

I'll give you the proper way and another way that works... .

Proper: Make yourself a little slide hammer that attaches to the top of the injector. You can make it just by finding the appropriate bolt and some threaded rod. Then anything that will slide.

Another way that works...

If you take a pair of vice grips and pinch on the flat part of the injector just below the threaded top end. Then use a open end wrench and put the wrench around the threads of the adjusting screw of the vice grips. Then use something as a fulcrum and pry on the wrench. This pushes the vice grips in the correct direction and does little if any harm to the injectors. I used this method in a pinch and did no damage to the injector.

Number 6 is a real pain. Good luck.

Yep, I did some similar rednecking too... used vice grips to clamp onto injector (I wasn't reusing them), then took my largest screwdriver and a 2x4 block of pine, layed the 2x4 across the valve covers to protect them and to act as the fulcrum, inserted flat tip of screwdriver into suitable opening in vise grips and popped them out... . :-laf

Come on sundayDrive... . which method did you use? Redneck like a good first gen'er or did you actually get a real tool?

Spraying some PBlaster down in the bore beside the injector will help them break loose, too. I have always used the vice Grips (7 or 10"- 5" wont cut it) and had no issues.

Thanks for your comments. I actually used a vise grip with a crow bar lol hey it did the job right thats all that counts. I also turned the fuel pump up and I love the power.
