Better Check that Air Filter!!!

I know we can take our lube filters to any auto parts store and they'll dispose of them properly, but where can I take my fuel filter and drained diesel fuel to keep it from being tossed in a dumpster?

May not be right, but I put the fuel filters with the oil filters at the recycle center. No one has said anything - YET!

The small amount of fuel I have from my first gen filter gets put into the waste oil.

I burn mine. I either use it to start a bonfire or just burn it in a metal bucket. I don't live in the city so this works good for me

I'm not sure how the law applies to every state or if it's national, but the way the oil change places do it is with a very expensive machine that hydraulically smashes the filter and extracts the oil. Might see if your local quickie-lube will take the filters off your hands. It is against the law to throw used filters in the trash nationwide.

Out here, the recycle station I was talking about is the local dump. They have a bin for used oil and another for used filters. No charge to use, limited to 5 gallons at a time. All the auto parts stores take oil but I'm not sure about filters.

How about in the middle of a big Fire Ant mound??:D :D

Just kidding!!

You guys in the south know what that is!!

I put mine in the used oil filter recycling bin.

Bill-

I know what you mean with the ant hills. My older brother when he was 3 rode his tricycle into a hill and got stuck. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy soon afterwards. :D

I don't see why there'd be any problem with using the fire ant mound, er, I mean the oil filter recyling place ;) Diesel fuel is, after all just a light oil and an excellent fire ant killer.

Also makes a nice weed killer for your fence row. We tell the little Houston liberals (who see us on their Sunday drive) that its Roundup.

illflem, really??? Against the law nation wide??? I guess I've been comitting a crime for quite some time... . I'll have to find out how to dispose of the filters properly in my area.
