Going to buy a new thermostat tomorrow - if someone tells me how to be sure I'm getting the improved model. I searched the archives and didn't find the info. I think I remember someone saying that the proper new thermostat has "aa" imprinted somewhere. Please help!

BTW: Geno's lists: 3935811
Fritz lists: 3943200

The new thermostat # is 05015090AA.

------------------
White 99 3500, QC, 3:55, auto. most options except leather, Line-X bed liner, fiberglass running boards Rancho 9000s, bug shield and window vents, black vented 5th wheel tailgate, 100 gal. aux. fuel tank.

The dealer replaced my thermostat with the new improved version, NOW it is only running about 150 or 160 tops. Used to run at 180 and get to 200 on a hill, hard pull with trailer. I think diesels run better, ie, better mileage and power at the higher temps. Wish I could buy my old thermostat back.

I have just had my "defective" original equipment t'stat replaced with the 5015090-AA replacement and my '98 24v sits at a comfortable 180 degrees in the Phoenix summer heat. With the "defective" unit it pegged 190 until I hitched up the TT or flew low across the AZ desert, when it was very twitchy and I'd have to back off the go pedal. So far I have not been able to get it to register more than 1 peg width above 190 dragging the TT at up to 75 mph. 'tween Tucson and Phoenix with the ambient hovering around 107 degrees.

BTW, I love this towing truck, and it's completely stock. purdy too !
