I got one of those dash pods thats black and wanted to paint it to match my dash.....

It says its ready to paint dash pod... .

So is there anything special i need to do to it? Should i just paint it and call it good or use some of that spray on prep stuff for painting plastics, then paint it?

I want to paint it right the first time so i don't have to take it out again for touch ups... .

THANKS

Pick you color and go with very thin layers. You could put down a couple of base layer of white then several thin layers of your color. Thin layer are usually more durable when there are several of them. It takes time and a little bit of the (I will not be hurried) but the results are worth the effort. ;) Giver yourself a week. 2 layers a day spaced several hours apart and allowed to dry normally.

If you're using interior paints from the dealer, priming isn't required but may help with coverage. Read the label, many paints say to apply additional coats within 1 hour or after 24 hours. On those paints the second coat will raise the base coat if the top surface has dried but not the undercoat.

The dealer sourced paint on mine required several coats to cover completely but held up well afterward. Let it dry thoroughly before handling.
