How to remove hubs to check brakes????

My brother has this trailer and we want to check out the brakes before hooking them up. DO we have to take off the center hub nut to remove the drum? It won't come off with just the tire removed. Thanks in advance.

YES-you may need to turn the adjuster's for the shoes to get the drum off. Try it first if it gets hung up just back off a little, drum should come off easily. Access hole on back side of backing plate.
