Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How to set the Idel on 2002 with lots of mods.

I have a 2002 4x4 with twins, Mach 7 injectors, Edge Drag comp, DTT, and a programmer, Cam, and head work, and the truck dies when i put it in gear some times. Any suggestions on how to raise the Idle a couple hundred rpms. I doesn't do it all the time. Any help guys??

You can't adjust the idle speed. Is your TC locked when you put it into gear?

believe the Smarty from Marco can increase the idle speed with one of the programs available.

no its not locked , It just seem to Idle to low

Welllll, I think we got your point! My poor ol monitor took a coffe shower! Oh well... .

That idle speed thing bothers me a little.

The idle speed SHOULD not vary with Smarty. OR I did something stupid!



Well it's about time to let the kitty outta the bag. I've worked on different software versions. One of them includes the extreme cold climate TSB. That TSB uses a little higher idle speed. Me think that maybe I've written that software into the latest Smartys... OPS!

Nothing bad, in fact them guys with tight converters and stalling issues when placed in gear will LOVE it but it also kills the mileage a little.



I've two more software versions ( almost ) ready too.

In those I replace the software # 0 with the " anti theft" software(s).

Remember? A while back we talked about them...

Since it seemed that no go / go but die under load was about fifty fifty, I thought why not do both and let them guys decide what fits them needs best.



So here it is.



Version 1) Revison # 1. 06 same as today, nothing changed.

Version 2) Revision# 2. 06 file structure as above but the extreme cold climate version. Good of course for cold climates with #1 fuel and stalling issues with tight converters

Version 3) Basically same as #1 but software zero is replaced with a "no go" file. Crank but the engine will not fire.

Version 4) Same as above but the engine will start and run at idle, place it under slight load and the engine will die.
