How to shrink Pictures to Avatars

Ok now that the How to add an avatar has somewhat been answered. How do computer nim no's like myself take a picture they have on their PC and make an avatar? Keep in mind us nim no's (speaking for myself of course) don't have any fancy paint shop pro programs or stuff like that. And even when told to down load stuff like "Irfan View" (or something like that) aren't quite sure what to do. I appoligize for being PC DUH! and appreciate any help some one might be willing to offer. Did an internet search for avatars "it's amazing what people will try to sell.



Then I saw (on the TDR) a big picture of someone's red quad duallie and then it ended up being his avatar.



I hate being avatar challenged and really want my 73 340 Duster to be my avatar.

There is no way...

Without the software, there is no way to resize it. Programs like Paintshop Pro are downloadable from the web and offer 30 day free trials so you can use it for image resizing.

Get Paint Shop Pro version 3. It is shareware, but doesn't expire. You should buy it after you evealuate it though. It works good for simple resizing and it's fast. I use it alot to do the quicky jobs.
