How to Start Bombing?

:confused: OK looking for some opinions from those who have, or even done research into Bombing..... I hope to end up someday at about 350 HP (truck still stock) when all is said and done. I was wondering where is the best place to start. I was thinking doing the Tranni (Torque Conv. , and Valve Body) 1st. leaning towards DTT?????? Also a 4" exhaust while letting the cat out, and of course gauges (Boost, EGT's, and Trans Temp). Then changing the plate, injectors, and Valve springs to 60lb. For my Exhaust brake install :)

Now opinions, and experiences :D PLEASE on these mods. What products would you use? What products would you stand clear of? What have I left out? What else should I change? And lastly will changing just the Plate and Injectors get me 300 - 350 HP? And still be reliable? If not what else do I have to do?

I wish ya had the chance to take the rig out yesterday at the meet so ya can feel "Mild" bombing. with the mods I have suit me pretty well (Except for an HX Turbo) .

In my opinion I would Start with the Trans FIRST as this mod will bring out even the STOCK power :eek: Next once the drivetrain is Toughened up the world awaits (But just keep in mind you will want to have the trans work adjusted after each MAJOR bomb (DDII injectors+PE) Simple adjustments in reality. I drove a truck (Who will be a member soon) That was Bone stock and he had someone down south perform a 91% TC and VB and that alone was worth every red cent. SO lEAN SON LEAN, Twards the DTT I wish I did it first as I :eek: SCHREDDED :eek: the stock trans @ 10,000 with just a :rolleyes: K&N :rolleyes:

You'll become very knowledgable in short order, the other thing to do is attend a local TDR chapter (there's one in the Houston area) http://www.lstdr.f2s.com/ and talk and ride in some trucks that perform like you want yours to. The starting is the easy part... its the stopping that no one has figured out yet lol. Before to long you will be saying"yeah I remember when I only had 350HP" Bieng a 24v 5 speed guy I can't offer much advise. Although I would by DTT stuff just based on all the posts on here that praise Bills products and Customer Service

In a perfect world. A credit card with NO limit and NO payment ;) :p . If ya start ya wont stop. It is just too much fun. I think I spent the retirement on this truck and no finish in site. BOMB ON, SAM.
 
I would definately get the Boost and EGT (exhaust gas temp. ) gauges first. That way if you are having a problem (Low Boost) you can troubleshoot it better. You will be able to see if any of your Bombs are causing too high of EGT's and take appropriate action before you do any damage.
 
Thanks everyone, I guess it's the DTT torque convertor, and Valve body is going in 1st. Now is it going to be 91% or the 93%???
