First of all... . What is the PDC..... and why do you want to take it appart?

If your talking about the fuse panel... . Use an ohm meter from the inboard positive cable to the positive side of the fuse. That should tell you which fuses are on that circut, but on the flip side of that... . some fuses are a straight battery power, some are a key on power source.

The PDC is the Power Distribution Center. It is on the firewall side of the driver's side battery. There are some fuses and relays in it. I have a '95 and have never taken the PDC apart so I don't think I can help with this one.

Need to test the PDC in 99 1 ton 5spd. does any one have info on the buss bars and relays?

Look in the underside of the PDC cover, it has a pretty good diagrahm of what/where everything is located. bg

pdc

Something is ruining the the voltage comming out of the pdc so have to look at options on what they are. The alternator was good and is new and the batteries are replaced and nothing is helping the bad voltage. Some serious arcing going on somewhere.

I know one member who had a bad PDC. He had to replace it. If I remember correctly, he took it apart and said it wasn't visually obvious that it was bad.

Is the alternator actually charging? The voltage regulator for the alternator isn't located in the PDC, it's in the ECM. What do you mean by Bad Voltage?

Check the main input lead - - heavy wire goes to a clamp on the engine side of the PDC. There was a write up on this problem several years ago - - - don't remember all the details but sounds like the same problem.

PCC Power

The PDC has an ARC in the voltage coming out of it. Because I have seen the output voltage on an oscilloscope and have the waveforms if anyone is interested.

At that time I checked the O/P from the alternator and the batteries they looked good. The pulse width modulation looked good going into the alt from the pcm.

How do I find out about the PDC (gone bad) article from several years ago???

I don't think the article was about the PDC going bad as much as it was the main lead to the PDC working loose. Take the cover off and there is a screw clamp with a large red (about 8ga. ) just pull on the wire - - you'll find out real quick if thats the problem.
