Easy.
Open the hood.
If you have CA emissions, There is an ugly black hose going from the intake, across the valve cover, back to,the exhaust manifold.

Remove them ASAP.

only difference between a Comiefornia truck and 49 state is the programing on the properly valved ones
Gene your correct on the 12 valve ones

My truck was factory order from Mexico delivered to Oregon.

VIN number doesn't tell.

Window sticker doesn't reference, but maybe if it was a Calif. it would??

Can't find anything at Dave Fritz site.

How do I determine?? Thanks... .

I dug out my window sticker and under the optional equipment column it says"Emissions-California" but there is no dollar amount shown.

Sam... . thanks. Since my window sticker doesn't, and yours does, I guess that's the only way to know??

I really want to be able to determine this for certain, and so will any of you who want Bill K's TC/VB.

Right-ee-oh. The 24v cal trucks don't have an EGR. One way to tell should be on the engine data plate,it should say CA or fed emissions.
If the window sticker doesn't say CA emissions, then it simply doesn't have it. If you're still in doubt, then go to the dealer and have the service dept print you out a build sheet for your truck. It will list which emissions it has.

MikeR... . Thanks.

The window sticker does not make any reference, and Sam says his does, so looks like no mention means it isn't Ca. emissions.

No reference on my engine data plate, if it's the plate on the framing around the radiator on the passenger side.

Pulled out my build sheet..... bingo. Says "standard emissions".

Truck would likely exhibit "rolling black" out syndrome and seek to bankrupt the nearest utility simultaneously?

I think the CA. trucks have an emmissions sticker under the hood.
I was really happy when I first saw my truck and noticed NO sticker like every gasser has been stuck with since some time in the '80's.
