Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How to tell if VP44 is original

Is there any way to tell if the VP44 has been replaced? I've often wondered if the one on my truck is the original one.

most replacements have a " remanufacted"sticker on them

I don't remember when they started putting the anti-tamper seal on the electrical connector plug at the back of the pump but if it's there it's probably the original. My 99 didn't have the seal but that pump was still not fiddled with much in early 99 yet so the DC nazi's didn't bother with an indicator.
