I dropped a screw driver and when it was done bouncing around it hit the alternator and caused it to spark. Now my batteries are not being charged. Are the alternators that easy to kill? Or do I need to look elsewhere? We finished building a set of twins and had the batteries disconnected the entire time. The screwdriver fell as soon as the opportunity presented its self to it. Tell me what you think.

Thanks

I don't have any experience here, but if there were sparks then a blown fuse would be the first thing I'd check for.

I will definitely look into that when I get off work. I havent gotten a chance to look at it or nothing. Thought I would run it by the TDR, cause I cant be the first.

Start the truck and put a volt meter on the batter and see if you have around 14. 5 volts and then shut the truck off and see if the volts drop

if it does then you know it is charging

hope this helps

Shorted mine awhile back and blew the 150 amp fuse by the pcm on the driver side. Did not know that I blew it for about a week later until it would not start.

right on I was hoping there was a fuse in there. I will let you know what it was for anyone interested when I get off work.
