Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How to turn up inline pump

I'm not very knowledgeable on 12 valves so hopefully somebody can help me out. I got a guy that wants his pump turned up he says it looses power at about 1800rpms. Any help would be nice.

What little I know is only on 12 valves. The P pump can be "turned up" several ways. Move the fuel plate forward, or replace it. A boost elbow is nice too. 3k gov kit really helps.

TST has kits for different power ranges, depending on the cpl# of the pump.

He will need gauges first. The egt's will start climbing with mild mods.

Surely someone with real knowledge will chime it with some links to help you.

I'd suggest he look for fuel restrictions first. 1800 RPM is too early for the gov to be kicking in. This thing should be cranking out good until at least 2400 RPM, Then a GSK kit helps from there.

Check the filter and if necessary do a low pressure check at that speed.

It sounds like a fuel filter issue there especially if it smokes white at that RPM.



Check out this thread for 12 Valve AFC modifications. Most of it is just tinkering, you should spend hours and hours with your AFC and still be unhappy, but I think thats the beauty in it :-laf

Is the throttle getting full fuel ?

Is the fuel shutoff coming off all the way?
