Fuel prices are

I have been for the last few weeks bombing my fuel system and have been trying unsuccessfully to get the diesel smell out of my cloaths, now the real problem is that the smell of fuel in my cloaths has made me sport wood and everyone is looking at me funny :D and the timberjack is getting tired.

How do I get the smell out

cheers, Kevin

How to wash diesel soaked clothes?

SEPARATELY!! (that is if you like a peace with the other half)

I threw my clothes and a couple rags from injector/lift pump change in a load of other laundry. The whole load of stuff smelled like diesel even after a another washing. Boy did I catch some :-{}

I would wash them separately with a healthy dose of detergent. After the dryer, hang them up in the basement, garage, someplace where they can let the stink evaporate. Give em a little time, they'll be OK again.

de-greaser

Kevin- soak them overnight in engine degreaser solution - the water soluable stuff. rinse them pretty good by hand and then put them in the washing machine on the heavy duty cycle. works for me. Regards, Lynn

PS - you ever get your air box thingy working? Manufactured?

Wash them with your wife/girl friends underwear. That way you can focus better when you really need to ;)

NO WAY, last time we washed our underware together they came out tied in a knot and she got pregnant    I aint doin that again... ... ... ... ... ... . I'M SCARED :--) :--) :--)

:D Kevin :D

Lestoil

A friend showed mw this many years ago. Do a separate load and put in Lestoil. It is simply amazing on any thing greasy, including diesel fuel. Try it!!

soak 'em in a bucket of water/simple green solution. works for me when i get my stuff dirty at home. at work, i just toss 'em in the laundry with a cup of laundry soap but pre spray the clothing with prosol [the solvent cleaner we use at work -that stuff is great]

Take them to that stink plant I mean gas plant you work at and throw them in with the dirty rags and let them clean em for you. Be sure and take some extra clothes cause you don't want to be running around there but naked:eek: They might start :-{} If mine get too dirty I just throw them away.

I wash mine the first time with double detergent and then again with normal amount of detergent and a scoop of Oxy-clean. Came out smelling normal - for my clothes. And the wife wasn't complaining about a diesel smell.

Try 20 Mule Team Borax. Soak them in detergent & 1/2 cup Borax overnight, rinse them out and wash them (separately of course!) in extra detergent & 1/2 to 3/4 cup Borax.

The Borax even took the nasty "fire smell" out of my clothes when I did the fire-fighting thing.

Good luck!

Although I love the smell and it works better then Viagra - The Simple Green pre-soak then wash with a little extra detergent (separately) does satisfy the wifie.

I have tried the Lestoil and Simple Green but the only way I got rid of the smell (about a quart of diesel on jeans and shirt) was to air them outside for 3 days after washing.
